Programming language and plain text file handling

As a programmer, sometimes I want to record some code to be executed to system (for system analysis or some other purposes). I tried to paste some code to the memory (I use mebot from web browser) and it doesn't seems well formatted. I didn't mean syntax highlighting, but I mean the paragraph and spacing also looks very odd and not beautiful.
